ORTHODONTICS

WHAT IS IT?

Orthodontics is the specialty that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental, skeletal and facial irregularities. Align the teeth and improve the bite.

It improves function because when placing the teeth in the right place the patient can chew better, and even in many cases it can help to breathe better.

On the other hand, it can improve esthetics since it improves the smile by having a rejuvenating component.

Orthodontics will not prevent you from participating in any of your activities. Playing an instrument may require some adjustment when the brackets are placed for the first time. If you play a contact sport, it is recommended that you use a mouth guard to protect your braces or appliances
Orthodontic appliances do not usually hurt, although you may feel a slight discomfort for a couple of days as your teeth, gums, cheeks and mouth become used to your new orthodontic appliances.
